Did you know that you are a person of destiny? Psalm 138:8 says that God will fulfill His purpose for you. God created you on purpose. He created you for a purpose—and He has a destiny that only you can fulfill. That is exciting!
The word destiny means ordained, consecrated, devoted, destined, moving toward a goal. You have been consecrated and set apart for God's purpose. You have a destination to reach. The Apostle Paul understood destiny. He said, "I am going to run the race that God has set before me." At the end of his life he said, "I have finished my race." He had the satisfaction that he had fulfilled his God-given destiny. Each one of us can experience that same satisfaction. (Philippians 3:12)
Romans 8:28 in the Amplified Bible says, "We are assured and know that…all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good—to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose. God actually designed your destiny! Your life is fitting into a plan—and it's a good plan. It's God's plan.
Listen to these powerful words that God spoke concerning you in Psalm 139:13-16."For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be."
Your destiny is as real as you are. When you were in your mother's womb, God was thinking about you and your destiny! He knit you together and He put in you the gifts and the callings that you need to fulfill your destiny! Your personality fits your destiny! When He looks at you He sees a Masterpiece and He thinks, 'Wow! I did a good job on him! Wow, I did a good job on her!'
The Scripture says that "all your days have been ordained by God and written in His book!" Your genetic makeup, your talents, your culture, and your circumstances—all happened by the hand of God—not by chance.
There is a God-designed destiny that only you can fulfill. God has an assignment for you. Someone needs what you have!
We need to live with that sense of destiny in our hearts. We ought to get up every day with the attitude, I am a person of destiny. Father, direct my steps today so that I will fulfill Your purpose for my life.
