Hello everyone,
I am under an obligation to share this story with you this morning! I don't know why but i believe God wants someone to hear it.
A few months ago, i gave one of the cleaners in our office a lift as i was on my way to church. I asked him if someone had sent him since our office is a little bit out of the way and we usually send him to get us sandwiches. He said no, that he was on his way to the hospital to see his wife who was admitted as she had fibroids and she had to be operated upon. I dropped him off and encouraged him and went to church.
When i came back to the office however, my heart was burdened. I thought about the scripture in the book of James:
Jas 2:14
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Jas 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
Jas 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
: and i told myself that i had to do something. I called for him and i gave him some money. But my heart would not be at ease. I imagined this boy's salary, not more than 60,000 frs/ month. He had a sick wife who didn't work and he had two children, a set of twins. He had to spend at least 300,000frs for his wife to be operated upon and back on her feet. It was a Wednesday, his wife had to be operated upon urgently within a week.
I also remembered that he is a very humble boy. As careless as i am, i am always leaving money on my desk before going home but i always meet everything on my table in tact. I had never seen him frown or complain if anyone sent him. I had never seen him speak rudely to everyone. So, the spirit refused to let me rest till i did something. I sent an email to all my colleagues and my bosses and told them the guy's situation. I reminded them that he had worked in the company for 7 years with no issues and that it is in times like this that we could show our gratitude.
Everyone rallied. My boss told the GM, and the GM had the company give him some money. Some colleagues even were mad at me that i didn't inform them to contribute. To cut a long story short, we raised about 300,000frs for him by Friday.
Can i hear someone say AMEN!!!! The God we serve is an awesome God and will always always meet us at our level of expectations. We may be undergoing all kinds of troubles that are giving us sleepless nights but we must always remember that we have a miracle working God who is always working behind the scenes. We never know how He will act. If we will just work according to His plan and will for our lives, He will always make sure we are always well positioned in the right place, at the right time and meeting the right people. We just have to trust Him and stay faithful.
If i had not been going to church that day, i would not have given him a lift and i would not have asked him a question to which he gave me an answer just for politeness sake as he is not the type who would have come to confide in me. Dare i say God had positioned him for his own miracle?
Is someone who is reading this thinking that there is no way out of their issues they may be facing? Well, think again. God said it!!! So believe it, and let that settle it! He parted the red sea for his people, he turned back time for Hezekiah, he held the sun still for Joshua, He helped David beat Goliath, then what is that little problem you may have that keeps you uneasy when we have a never sleeping God.
Remember also, that we may be called to be vessels through which someone can be saved or have their faith level jump. Never pass up an opportunity to help a brother or sister because you may be that answer to which they have been praying to God. Be someone's answer to prayer and i know someone will also be your answer. It is a blessing and a grace to be used as God's vessel.
Our primary purpose on earth is for God's glory and to help bring others to Christ. My prayer today is that we all learn to listen to our inner spirit and obey and fulfil God's words.
I leave you with Jeremiah 29:11. The plans He has for us are to prosper us!!! Can anything beat that? Believe it and rest easy.
Be mightily blessed
