Have you ever loved someone? You think of them first thing when you wake up in the morning…you think of them at odd moments during the day…you look for the silliest reasons to call them or talk to them…sometimes you even bore them by just always getting in their face. You want to buy them the earth or do everything for them. The relationship could either work or the other person could say you are too demanding emotionally or a bore. Yep the sad truth of life.
Have you ever loved God? As opposed to our human relationships…God is just the most willing partner you could ever find. When you think of Him first thing in the morning and call Him…I can just imagine the big smile on His face, He will just want to do anything for you. Then just imagining calling on Him at every single moment in your life. I can imagine God boasting and saying…this is a person who loves me so much, I would do anything for them.
People, remember Abraham? He was even about to sacrifice his only son for God. I am sure God was like…Wooh!!! This is love!!!!! And God proceeded to bless him and his descendants up to the present day. How many of us have had favour with people because of what our parents did for them or maybe a relative of theirs? Some of us have had jobs because our parents worked in companies and were good…or we were even admitted to certain schools because those who came before us were good examples. If human love can span one or two generations or more, then think of God’s love.
Remember David…God himself said, this is a man after my own heart. I love David’s story because he was a human being just like you and me who sinned but he kept his faith. Of course God knows we are human. We will sin…but He wants us to keep His faith.
Many times I have wondered why I am such a sinner but God still blesses me. I got the answer not long ago. I have been saved through Grace, not by anything I do. God has already put all in place, He just asks that we trust Him and follow His lead. He wants us to let Him fight our battles for us, to let Him map our careers for us, to let Him find our partners for us. I have friends who ask me, Marja u no get some your brother weh we fit hook up? I always tell them not to force God’s hands. Why do you want to end up with my brother who is an average Joe when God has a blessed tycoon for you somewhere? I met my husband in the sloppiest period of my life. When I was studying for exams and I used to wear some very baggy jeans and sweaters which went down below my fingers. I knew that I looked like a shapeless bag lady which was fine with me because I thought to myself that I did not want any distractions. Hmm… God had better plans and He works supernaturally. I think He either blinded Gigi that day or made him see someone else. Ha ha ha.
I always imagine God as a guy so madly in love with me He will do anything for me. I am like….ok, you have said I should give all to you right? You do the worrying about my job, about my debt, about my family etc etc…Have you ever seen a puppy eager to please? I believe that is how God is when we leave everything in His hands. He wants to prove to the world that He is your protector. When you go after God’s heart, He will open the gates of Heaven and pour out all the blessings. You will be filled with favor…I always like to tell my friends that ‘ God over like show show!!!! ‘. An example…
Recently, a group of ours undertook a project to build a school. When I say undertook…I mean we were talking about it everyday and praying about it. We knew we needed at least 10 million francs to start but had only about 100,000frs in our coffers. Guess what, we told God in the meetings that we know that school will be built this year before September. I didn’t know God laughed and said He would show us for even trying to limit Him. Last month, while driving, a friend from MTN pulled up to my side at Ancien Route Bonaberi…I asked where he was going to, he said he was going to Buea. He said “Marja, remember that school in Buea? MTN has decided to build it in 21 days. They are sinking 60 million francs into it. Ok, bye” And he drove off. I nearly had an accident. I don’t think he even remotely knows the impact his words had on me. I think God was like…okay, these ladies of mine want something. Let me show them I am a Macho God, let me blow their minds away. This Saturday just past, the keys of the school in Mile 14 were handed over. They had built a 60 million dollar complex. Is God a wonderful lover or what? We wanted the school built before September…It was built in 21 days. Our estimates were a 10 million frs structure…60 million francs was used on it. “God like show show!!!”
I could write on and on about God’s love but I have to end here. I just want us to leave all in His hands and just be after His heart. Unlike our human selves, God loves the attention. He loves being able to boast that we are His children n doing the things He loves. Put God first and see what He will do for you. Test God. He loves the challenge. He wants to fight for you and show the others that He is the guy. Seek Ye first the Kingdom of God and all other things will be added onto you.
